I've loved making things for as long as I can remember. As a kid, I was always coming up with new ideas, dreaming up little projects, and finding fun ways to turn my imagination into something real. My childhood was filled with all kinds of hair-brained schemes, from selling handmade greeting cards on the side of the road to organizing choreographed dance concerts in the garage. Looking back, those little adventures were the beginning of my creative journey. I didn't know it at the time, but I was already learning how much joy comes from making something with my own two hands.
As I grew older, my love for creating only became stronger. Eventually, I learned how to sew, opening up a whole new world of possibilities. Fabric, colors, patterns, and textures became my playground, and I discovered that even the simplest materials could be transformed into something special. Sewing gave me a way to bring my ideas to life, and before long, my childhood hobby began to grow into something much bigger.
But the idea for 2True Headbands started with a very specific problem.
The Headband That Started It All
When I was twelve years old, I was absolutely obsessed with headbands. I loved how a simple accessory could add personality to an outfit, brighten up an ordinary day, and make a hairstyle feel a little more special. Whether I wanted something colorful, playful, or simple and classic, a headband was always one of my favorite finishing touches.
There was just one problem: finding the perfect one was surprisingly difficult.
I wanted headbands that were cute, comfortable, and stayed in place throughout the day. Unfortunately, most of the options I found seemed to get only two out of those three things right. Some were adorable but uncomfortable to wear for long periods. Others felt comfortable but didn't have the look I wanted. And even the cutest designs could become frustrating when they slipped out of place.
I couldn't understand why finding a headband that did everything I wanted seemed so difficult. I knew there had to be a better way.
So, being a creative twelve-year-old with plenty of curiosity, a sewing machine, and a determination to figure things out, I decided to make my own.
I took apart a few headbands I already owned to study their construction and use them as patterns. I experimented with different fabrics, adjusted the sizing, and tried different designs until I began to understand what made a headband feel right. There were plenty of little adjustments along the way, but every experiment taught me something new.
Eventually, I created a headband that felt different from the ones I had tried before. It was soft, comfortable, versatile, and much closer to the headband I had always wanted.
That small discovery became the beginning of 2True Headbands.
From a Childhood Idea to a Creative Business
What began as a personal project soon became something I wanted to share with others. I realized that I wasn't the only person looking for accessories that combined style and comfort. Sometimes, the smallest everyday frustrations can lead to the most meaningful ideas, and for me, that idea was a better headband.
2True grew from my desire to create accessories that people would genuinely enjoy wearing. I wanted to make pieces that felt good, looked lovely, and fit naturally into everyday life. I also wanted the creative process itself to remain an important part of what made the brand special.
Starting a business has been an exciting journey full of learning, experimenting, and discovering new possibilities. I've continued to explore different fabrics, colors, patterns, and styles, always looking for fresh ideas that can make my products more fun and versatile.
The spirit that inspired me at twelve years old is still at the heart of everything I do today: curiosity, creativity, and the belief that there's always room to make something a little better.
2True Headbands is more than a business to me. It's a way to keep doing what I love, to turn ideas into tangible creations, and to share a little piece of my creative world with others.
Cute, Comfortable, and Made to Be Worn

One of my favorite things about running 2True Headbands is that there is always something new to discover. Inspiration can come from a beautiful fabric, an unexpected color combination, a pattern that catches my eye, or an idea that suddenly appears while I'm working on something completely different.
I love trying new things and exploring ways to grow the business while staying true to the creativity that started it all. Each new idea is an opportunity to learn, experiment, and find another way to make accessories that people will love.
Of course, building a business also comes with challenges. There is always something new to figure out, another detail to improve, and another goal to work toward. But those challenges are part of what makes the journey so rewarding. They remind me that creativity isn't just about having ideas; it's also about being willing to try, learn from experience, and keep going.
